1. About the project

The project developed a web app that serves as the core digital infrastructure for reusing packaging at scale in the restaurant sector. In parallel, the project supported the development and creation of a mould for proprietary reusable packaging, designed specifically for take-away.

2. Objectives

• Economic model transition: drive the circular economy and resource efficiency, moving from the linear model to reuse systems.
• Legal compliance and scale: enable restaurant businesses to comply with the new European rules (under the PPWR regulation), offering a reusable take-away alternative that is scalable and fully compliant.

3. Main investments

• Technological development of the digital platform
• Feasibility and market studies
• User experience and interface design (UX/UI)
• Prototyping and creation of a mould for the proprietary packaging

4. Expected results

As the new legislation takes effect in Portugal, the project aims to give the restaurant sector what it needs to be fully compliant with the European rules, while contributing to a sharp reduction in single-use packaging and showing that reuse at scale works economically and operationally.
